Personal Data During the Application Process
Personal data is information relating to the personal or factual circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as your name, address, telephone number, and date of birth, as well as information about your specific professional career, etc., which can be attributed to a specific person with reasonable effort. Information that cannot be linked, either directly or indirectly, to your actual identity does not constitute personal data.
Legal Basis and Purposes of Processing Personal Data in Applications and During the Application Process
If you apply to us electronically, either by email or via our web form, we collect and process your personal data for the purpose of managing the application process and carrying out pre-contractual measures.
By submitting an application via our careers page, you express your interest in taking up employment with us. In this context, you provide us with personal data that we use and store exclusively for the purpose of processing your job application.
In particular, the following data is collected:

The channel through which you became aware of us

You also have the option of uploading meaningful documents, such as a cover letter, CV, and certificates. These documents may contain additional personal data, such as your date of birth, address, etc.
Your data may only be accessed by authorised employees in the Human Resources department and by employees involved in the application process.
Personal data is generally stored exclusively for the purpose of filling the vacant position for which you have applied.
Your data will be stored for a period of 120 days after the application process has ended. This is generally done to fulfil legal obligations and to defend against any potential claims arising from statutory provisions. After this period, we are required to delete or anonymise your data. In this case, the data will only be available to us as so-called metadata without a direct reference to an individual for statistical evaluations, such as the proportion of female and male applicants or the number of applications received during a given period.
In addition, we reserve the right to store your data in our “Talent Pool” for 180 days after the end of the application process in order to identify other potentially suitable positions for you. This also applies, for example, to applications for an apprenticeship or internship. By accepting this Privacy Notice, you consent to the potential extended storage of your data and to its inclusion in our “Talent Pool”.
If you receive and accept an offer of employment from us during the application process, we will store the personal data collected during the application process for at least the duration of your employment relationship.
Disclosure of Data to Third Parties
The data submitted as part of your application is transmitted using TLS encryption and stored in a database. This database is operated by Personio GmbH, which provides human resources management and applicant management software (https://www.personio.de/impressum/). In this context, Personio acts as our data processor pursuant to Article 28 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The legal basis for this processing is a data processing agreement between us, as the data controller, and Personio.
Rights of Data Subjects
If we, as the data controller, process personal data, you, as the data subject, have certain rights under Chapter III of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), depending on the legal basis and purpose of the processing. These rights may include, in particular:

Processing of (personal) data by the operator of the recruitment website

This recruitment website is operated by Personio SE & Co. KG, which offers a human resource and candidate management software solution (https://www.personio.com/legal-notice/). Data transmitted as part of your application will be transferred using TLS encryption and stored in a database. The sole controller of this data within the meaning of article 24 of the GDPR is the enterprise carrying out this online application process. Personio’s role is limited to operating the software and this recruitment website and, in this context, being a processor under article 28 of the GDPR. In this case, the processing by Personio is based on an agreement for the processing of orders between the controller and Personio. In addition, Personio SE & Co. Access logs (“server logs”)

Each access to this recruitment website automatically causes general protocol data, so-called server logs, to be collected.
